Hello! This blog is very new so I’m still figuring out what it’s all about, but for now, here’s a little about me:
My name is Zena. I’m 26 years old but I’d rather be 30.
I am currently living in Los Angeles, CA but left part of my soul in New York, NY.
I like to think it’s still there hanging around town, catching taxis, eating bagels, and watching the turtles in Central Park.
I am a study abroad junkie and spent a semester in London, a summer in Guadalajara, and another summer in Rome.
Other countries I’ve been to include: Kenya, Portugal, Nicaragua, and yes, France!
When I was little, macaroni and cheese was my favorite food, I wanted to be Mariah Carey when I grew up, and I spoke Chinese fluently. As an adult, all food is my favorite food, I’d like to be Anthony Bourdain when I grow up, and I speak French and Italian very poorly. Someday I hope to relearn Chinese but that will be another blog… For now, I’m just trying to master French. I am in the process of applying to the Teaching Assistant Program in France this fall, so stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed! (Former TAPIF-ers, get at me with your advice!!!)
In the meantime, I’ll be sharing my methods in working towards fluency in another language and hope to hear from all of you!
